Bespoke coupé atelier — Zürich

Grand tourers,
reforged.

A hundred-and-twenty-seven hand-built grand tourers, one philosophy. We don't restore what was — we author what should have been.

01 — Atelier

We are not a body shop. We are not a tuner. We are an atelier — a small, slow workshop in the hills above Zürich where one car is finished at a time, and where every panel, switch and seam is judged against the question:

Would the original engineers be proud?

02 — Services

Four disciplines.
One coupé at a time.

Every commission moves through our four pillars — taken individually for restoration projects, or as a sequence for full restomod builds.

04 — Prozess

Eighteen months,
six chapters.

From the first conversation to the moment a coupé leaves the workshop on its own wheels, every commission moves through six deliberate phases.

N°01
Brief

The conversation.

A weekend at the workshop. We talk about the car you remember, the road you drive, and what the finished object should feel like in five years.

Phase · 2 weeks
N°02
Donor

Sourcing the shell.

We locate, inspect and acquire a donor car worthy of the build — typically a low-mileage, single-owner example with documented history.

Phase · 4–8 weeks
N°03
Strip

Down to bare metal.

Every panel, every loom, every fastener catalogued and stored. The shell is dipped, primed, and brought back to a known starting point.

Phase · 6 weeks
N°04
Build

The long middle.

Mechanicals rebuilt, body re-skinned where required, paint laid down by hand, interior trimmed. Roughly a year of patient work.

Phase · 48–56 weeks
N°05
Sign-off

Two thousand kilometres.

Every car is shaken down across alpine passes — Furka, Susten, Grimsel — until we trust it. Only then does it return to the workshop for final inspection.

Phase · 4 weeks
N°06
Delivery

A ceremony.

Handover takes a full day. We drive together, we explain every change, and we hand over the build book — a hardbound record of the previous eighteen months.

Phase · 1 day
05 — Mitbestimmen

Author your own.

A commission begins with two decisions. The rest we figure out together over the next eighteen months — but for now, give us a starting point.

06 — The Founder
I grew up in a workshop. My father restored Mercedes 6.9s in a barn in Appenzell. The sound of a torque wrench was my lullaby.

08 — Stimmen

From the commissioners.

"Eighteen months, and not once did Felix call to manage expectations. He called to ask which shade of cognac I wanted the seat piping to match — and sent four leather samples in the post."

Dr. M. Brunner 1989 928 GTS — N°047

"The car drives like a brand-new product from a factory that no longer exists. That's the only way I know how to describe it."

P. Walder 1991 BMW 850i — N°044

"I have owned three coachbuilt cars. None has matched the build book — let alone the build."

L. Tognola 1976 Mercedes 450 SLC — N°038

Reasonable questions.

Every Atelier and Concours build is delivered with current TÜV approval and complete cantonal documentation. We work with inspection officers in Zürich, Bern, St. Gallen and Wallis directly. Our performance modifications stay within Strassenverkehrsamt limits — louder exhaust, different wheels and engine tuning all require approval, and we obtain it before delivery, not after.
Selectively. We focus on grand tourers from 1972 to 1999 — Porsche 928 and 911, BMW 6er and 8er, Mercedes SLC and SL, Aston Martin V8 and Virage, Bentley Continental R. If your car sits inside that envelope, we will discuss it. Outside it, we can usually recommend a colleague.
Currently 14 months from deposit to build start. We deliver three to four cars per year and accept new commissions when a workshop bay frees up. We do not maintain a public waiting list — interested clients are added to our private register and contacted individually.
Active commissioners visit on monthly review days, and we welcome serious enquiries for a half-day workshop tour by appointment. We are based in Bauma, in the Zürich Oberland, roughly 45 minutes from the city by car.
No. Builds are paid in four staged instalments tied to phase completion: deposit, donor acquisition, body-in-paint, and delivery. We work with two private Swiss banks who can structure financing for clients who require it, and we are happy to make introductions.
